Productivity

CPAs desire to be productive.

Some things slow them down including:

  • Poor planning
  • Clients not providing information in a timely manner
  • Outdated technology including hardware and software
  • A lack of exercise
  • Not taking breaks
  • Overwork
  • Not dealing with stress and allowing it to accumulate
  • Not using project management techniques
  • Starting and stopping the same job too many times
  • Scope creep (and a lack of early identifying this element)
  • Too much noise
  • Poor diet
  • A lack of a spiritual life and practices
  • Too many interruptions whether electronic or by personnel

CPAs need to be intentional in building flow into their work schedule. Doing so allows accountants to be productive and enjoy their daily work lives.
